Let's talk about Hong Kong!

Hong Kong! Been there last monday till thursday. Had been really lazy to blog about it.
Let's see...Been there with weihao and junhao. Took jetstar there and got the seats beside the emergency exit so quite spacious.

Hotel was in Mongkok. Mongkok metropark hotel. Very near Prince Edward MTR. We took the Airport Express and alighted at Kowloon station before moving on to the edward station.

Bought the Octopus card which is the same as ez link card. Walked around Central area but couldn't find any place for lunch. Ironically food in HK was hard to find. Kena chopped carrot cake by the cha chan tin we went to. Damn it. The price was written on the menu but they charged us extra in the end. Didn't realise till we left the shop. Went to Harbour city and window shopped around a bit till the legs near broke. Walked a bit around Avenue of stars which supposedly have the handprints of HK film stars. Boring. Then watched the Symphony of lights nearby. Supposedly one of the tourist attractions in HK but i felt that it wasn't exactly incredible. Went to the night market after that. It was similar to Bugis village so it wasn't really that interesting. Wasted the night there. Anyway went to a very interesting dessert shop for food. Was great there. Should go there again.

HK was very foggy

The second day we woke up quite early and had breakfast at the nearby shop. Not bad the food i would say, though the dumpling and milk tea were weird. Went to Ocean Park after that. It was really an interesting place i would say. Like zoo that shows marine live. Entrance fee was expensive though. About SGD40. It wasn't as boring as i heard though. If anyone that goes to HK never go to that place, he cannot say that he has been to HK.

Anyway, Ocean park was humongous. The kids' section was at one side of the hill and we had to take the cable car to the other side. Omg the cable car was high, though not as high as what we were going to experience the following day. I managed to take a picture of the seal swimming in one of the exhibits. It smiled at me.

The seal that said hello to me

After that we watched the animal show. Incredibly smart dolphins. And i really respect those human performers that jumped into the water when the temperature was like 18degrees. The water must have been much colder. The performing seals were stupid though. There was one seal that didn't really understand the commands given.

Dived into the water too and took a photo from within the waters.

Nah..not really into the water. Just took the photo from outside the tank. It was really a wonderful sight looking into the water, looking at the fishes swimming.

Explored around after that and found a really typically cha chan tin that serves not-too-bad food. The bo lo bao was extremely nice! Didn't take note of the shop name though. After lunch we headed to the tram ride for Victoria Peak. The tram ride was crazy. I've never taken any transport that actually climbs the hill at about 45degrees. I'm absolutely not kidding here. It was incredible that the tram can actually have the power to bring so many passengers up to the peak.

Saw Jay chou at the top of the hill. He was filming something. Had his picture taken too. Saw him inside the Madame Tussaud's wax museum. Wonder what he was filming...

Anyway after that, we waited to see the sunset. As the shopping areas weren't exactly the top of the peak, we started climbing the slope, past many rich people's houses, thinking that we were on the right track. Finally we reached the real top of the peak. It was beside the tower which can be seen from the shopping area. I'm very sure not many people have climbed all the way to the top. We kinda lost our directions and accidentally ended up there. The view was totally different, but not worth the effort cos it was damn foggy.

The track we took

Foggyyyyyy damn it

The tower we're proud of reaching

Went to a very famous restaurant which is famous for its roast goose. Wow it wasn't cheap. Got a feeling that we were looked down upon when we first entered. Oh well. Each person paid SGD50 in the end. Thought it wasn't as expensive as what we thought to be. We tried to order cheaper stuff already.

Day 2 dinner

Continued our night market trip after that. It was as boring as ever. It was hard to believe that we had problems looking for toilets. Oh well...Better clear your bladders as much as possible there. The night market sells similar stuff except for the sex toys booth which were different from Singapore. They actually set up booths to sell those stuff. Incredible.

Yo ho ho~ 3 days in Kukup

Went for Kukup trip in Malaysia for the past 3 days from friday to sunday with the programmers. Lost quite some money in mahjong. Luckily is in ringgit and i dun really need the money. Why am i so lousy in mahjong damnit!

View from the balcony

This year's trip didn't seem as fun as last year. Probably been there and done the same thing so didn't exactly feel as fun. But i still like the mahjong and the settlers of catan games played over there. Was shy to interact with the freshies programmers though so didn't really get to know them much better. Oh well...i'm expiring as a programmer anyway since going China next feb. Doesn't really make much difference i guess?

Managed to catch the video of the famous mudskipper moving around on the sand over there. Noticed lots of special things about the mudskippers which i never realised last year when i saw them. Wow...

Karaoke session there wasn't that interesting also. Why! Seems like not many ppl like to sing song now. Sad...i miss ktv sessions... The progs played with fireworks too at night. I didn't join in though but took some videos of those. Too bad that the bigger and nicer fireworks were sold out.

Weather there was really humid and hot. Probably excreted a bucket of sweat and took in only half that amount of water into my body. Was really heaty for the three days. Luckily got the uber cooling coconut pudding and the cool cold beer. I loved the food there for both the restaurant's lunch and the BBQ dinner though they were exactly the same as last year's. Really tasty. Wonder how they actually prepared them.
